In the Shop

Its official.

I am finally all set up in a shop.  A consignment shop, that is.  I have all my stuff hung up, set up, displayed on shelves and draped nicely.  I'm one of those crafters now.  ;)  It took us a week to find the display shelf's that would work out and then three days to actually set it up.  The booth is 6x6, and my stuff takes up most of the room.  My art is big, and needing most of the wall space caused issues.  We had to keep readjusting.  This week will be the first full week our product will be in the shop full time.  And I am super excited!   So if you are ever in the Livingston Texas area, stop by Junk in the trunk and head to the back of the store.  Step through the door frame, and I'm the first booth to the right on the corner.  Can't miss me!  I'm six feet square of coolness! HAHA!

Plus I have this Texas snow man product that is just simply adorable.   And apparently totally believable to because my daughter freaked out over it.   I have these file holders that have large magnets on them, and when I finish them I hang them on the fridge for safe keeping.  So, when I finished the Texas snow man, on the frindge he went.  When Katelyn got home from school, she went over there to get her some yogurt out and started shouting "Oh no mom!!!! Your snowman melted!!! You need to stop making snowmen, its still to hot!"  It was just so darn funny, and I laughed and laughed even as I tried to explain to her that he was suppose to look melted.  She wouldn't have none of that because that is not how a snowman looks.   We argued for an hour, and then she argued for another half hour with her older brother when he got home.  Needless to say, I love my melted Texas snowman and my 5 year old thinks he's melted due to the Texas heat! Which actually, she's completely right!

I'm also stepping out into Jewelry.  I was not going to go there, but my mother inlaw sorta forced my hand when we found these beautiful pendants.  Once I finished the product, I was hooked.  Now I'm looking at furthering this with some more advanced techniques using a resin/epoxy blend and having a blast with it.  Gonna hit the library today and see what they have there so I can read up.  I'm super excited.

My pictures in the pendants on Transparencies backed with gold and silver painted card stock.  They are really really pretty.  The one with the blue frame hangs on a copper chain and the other hangs on a double ribbon.  I should have taken better pics, but was in a hurry to get them to the store.  Once these sell, I"m going to do some more, but with the resin.  Hopefully then I know what I'm doing!

My next project is braceletts.  I'm going to see if I can get an image onto these really cool copper beads I bought over the weekend and some kids play dominoes that we drilled holes in.  Can't wait to see how those turn out!!! So stay tuned, because this will be the first place I post about that... whether they turn out good or not!

Till next time!
